Description

Our client is a major company specializing in animal health services, import, formulation, development and sales of premixes, additives, and ingredients essential for animal nutrition. it is a major subsidiary of one of the leading European Groups of Companies in Nigeria and operates currently from Abuja and Ogun State.

The successful candidate will be responsible for :

Responsibilities
  1. Transport activities management Transport management, supervision, and control of all the domestic flows or movements of goods for Feed Avenue Ltd and 616 Business Development: -Delivery from company’s storage points to customers
    • Transport between the different storage points of the company
    • Transport between suppliers and storage points of the company
    • Transport between suppliers and customers
    • Transport from the docks (in-land incoming products) and the storage points of the company or the customers.
  2. Management of transport providers and Feed Avenue’s delivery drivers
    • He manages all the team directly linked to in-land transport activities (from the arrival of imported products to delivery to customers) :
      • Delivery Driver of Abuja
      • Delivery Driver of of Abeokuta
    • He manages all the transports suppliers and external services providers (companies or workers) linked to in-land transport activities (from the arrival of imported products to delivery to customers) :
      • Carriers
      • External handling staff for goods on-loading or off-loading
      • External services providers in relation with the compliance of the company’s rules in the field of transport.
    • He has supervisory and coordination functions in the transport fields, and is in direct contact with the Head of Logitics of the company.
  3. Transport Strategy
    • He is responsible for suggesting and organizing transport strategies with the Head of Logistics, with the purpose of ensuring the flow of products and goods from their arrival at the dock in Nigeria (or from suppliers in Nigeria) until their distribution.
    • He operates with a constant desire to optimize quality/costs/deadlines
    • He supervises the possible outsourcing of transport with the Head of Logistics.
    • He proposes and suggests the service providers and the specific agreements to be put in place with carriers.
  4. Transport Performance Management
    • Beyond his operational responsibilities, he is a referent within the company on methodologies and tools for improving transport performance.
    • He designs and implements actions plans approved by the Head of Logistics to reduce costs, lead times and to best satisfy customers.
    • He checks the good coordination and its improvement, if necessary, between the warehouse keepers, the commercial department and the customer deliveries.-
    • He supervises the compliance of the operating processes between the teams (Way bills/Delivery/ Delivery Slip).
    • His main objective are:
      • To optimize the transport costs
      • To implement delivery schedules in order to reduce costs but also to avoid improve customer satisfaction
    • He works in close collaboration with the Head of Logistics on the aspects of cost reduction and processes to put in place.
  5. Fleet management
    • He supervises fleet management activities: increase the daily fleet availability, on-time delivery and drivers’ efficiency (staff scheduling).
    • He supervises preventive and corrective maintenance, servicing and repair activities, documenting repair histories and reviewing repair work to ensure 100% accuracy and efficiency.
    • He finds new solutions to reduce fuel costs.
    • He designs and implements preventive measures to ensure full safety of drivers, vehicles (trucks, salesmen cars) and forklifts.
    • He develops and implements risk management systems to improve fleet management safety and security.
    • He ensures compliance to company rules.
Qualifications
  • Degree/HND with a minimum of five years' experience 5 years' experience in logistics, transport knowledge
  • Wide experience in the transport and fleet management Planning  management skills
  • Performance monitoring experiences and skills
  • Driving license
  • Technical and methodological know-how
  • Analysis and synthesis abilities
  • Master Office automation tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
